John McGroarty, born 9th May 1988 was only 19 years old when he died on the 3rd June 2007.
John lived in Baillieston in Glasgow with his mum and dad Margo and Tam and his younger brothers Stephen 15, Jack 7 and Jordan 4. He also has a big sister Tracy 20 and a nephew called Liam who is only 1 and was just about to become an uncle again. John has many aunts and uncles who also cared for him dearly and loved him as much as us.
John was epileptic since he was a baby but this never held him back from enjoying his life. John went to Barlanark Primary but was then moved to Richmond Park as they were able to offer John more support. He then moved on to Ashcraig High School where he enjoyed his time and was a gold star pupil but decided to leave in fourth year. John was unable to work due to his illness so spent his days out with friends if he was not following his mum like a shadow.
John was a great boy with such a caring heart and never saw bad in anybody he believed everyone was a friend no matter who they were.He worshipped his mum more than anyone at all and we know he would do anything for her bad or good. He adored his younger brothers and his nephew and would do a good deed for anyone. He did however, like a good drink with friends and family and there was never a dull moment when he was around.
On the 1st June John was taken to hospital as he was taking quite a lot of seizures and we had to try and calm them (this wasn't unusual). The docs decided to put him into intensive care where they said he would be fine and it was only to give his body a rest as he had no energy and would be woken back up on the Monday. Two days later, on the Sunday my family were called up to the hospital and gave the worst news that any family should ever hear, especially as there was no reason to why this happened. Finally, the doctor told our family it was pneumonia and to this day and forever we will always believe that John would be here if the docs didn't put john into a coma.
We know that John will be looked after by his grandparents and will settle in well as he was an angel here on earth with a heart of gold.
We all love you more than you will ever know john boy and not a day on earth will go by when we don't think about you.
love you forever wee man keep your head up because we will see you again one day. Goodnight babe, you were too good for this place and will fit in fine xxxxx
